Out and low

Cooks call it. Chef double checks.

A cook says low. If the count looks fine, Heard asks the chef before it changes anything.

Sound familiar?

“I said we're low.”

“Is it? I can't count every time.”

You say

  • Carlos, a cook says:“We're low on romaine”
  • Chef Maya says:“Romaine is fine, we have 30 pounds”

Or type it.

Heard's Talk sheet. Carlos said we're low on romaine, and Heard says it asked Chef Maya to check. On a phone: the chef's Checks screen with the question waiting.

CCarlos, cook“We're low on romaine”

Heard says

Thanks Carlos. The app thinks we have 30 lb of romaine hearts, so I asked Chef Maya to check it. Nothing changed yet.

Sample kitchen. The people, the dishes and the numbers are made up.

What happens

What Heard does

  1. Heard checks the count first. If the count says there is plenty, it leaves it alone.
  2. It tells the cook it asked the chef. The question waits on the chef's Checks screen.
  3. An 86 still goes through. The chef gets asked too.

Try it yourself

Now you say it.

You are Carlos, a cook. Say: We're low on romaine. Then pick Chef Maya and open Checks.

Keep going
