Out and low

Servers see what's 86'd before they ring it in.

Heard greys out a dish that is gone. If a server tries to add it, Heard says no.

Sound familiar?

“A server sold the salmon.”

“We ran out an hour ago.”

You say

  • Jasmine, a server says:“Table 12, two salmon and a caesar”
  • Jasmine, a server says:“Table 4, five short rib”

Or type it.

Heard's kitchen and floor screens in one window. The kitchen shows Today. The floor Menu has a red banner: Grilled salmon is 86'd.
Heard's server Menu on a phone. A red banner says Grilled salmon is 86'd, and the salmon is listed as out.
JJasmine, server“Table 12, two salmon and a caesar”

Heard says

Table 12: 1 Caesar salad. Rung in. Grilled salmon is 86'd, so I held that one.

Sample kitchen. The kitchen is on the left and the floor is on the right, in one window. The people, the dishes and the numbers are made up.

What happens

What Heard does

  1. Dishes that are out turn grey on the server Menu. They cannot be added to a table.
  2. Ask for too many and Heard says no, and says how many are left.
  3. The Tables screen shows which tables are open.

Try it yourself

Now you say it.

Do the salmon first. Pick Carlos and say 86 the salmon. Then pick Jasmine and say: Table 12, two salmon and a caesar.

Keep going
